This week we delve into one of my favorite subjects – being with discomfort. Somehow, this one never gets old – a) because it’s so hard to do and b) because it’s the key to wholeness.
What’s that? Discomfort is the key to wholeness? But I thought wholeness was all about bliss and unicorns. Yeah, that too. But mostly, wholeness is about experiencing life as it is. Even unicorns need to poop.
And poop is a great metaphor here. Pooping is a function of elimination. If we weren’t willing to let go of, ahem, our poop… well, we’d be full of it. And that would definitely not be blissful.
So, the moral of the story is, it’s important to bring awareness to what we’re avoiding – the inner poop of our lives. Being with this discomfort allows us to release it. And that is, indeed, blissful.
