Self doubt is painful. But what can be more painful is feeling that others, particularly those close to us, don’t believe in what we’re doing. In the fifteen years that I have been involved in building startups, it is this latter doubt that has been the hardest to deal with.
The entrepreneurial process is the ultimate hero’s journey. I often find that I come up against myself as much as the world around me. Learning how to navigate this territory is a source of continual learning and self knowledge. It is a hardship that has made me more human.
